Foo Fighters Score 25th Mainstream Rock Songs Top 10 With 'The Line'

Foo Fighters

The band moves into sole possession of the third-most top 10s in the chart's history!

Foo Fighters move one step closer to the record for the most top 10s on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart.

The band reaches the top 10 on the June 16-dated tally with "The Line" (13-10), the third single from 2017's Concrete and Gold. The song is the band's 25th top 10 on the chart, which began in 1981.

The Foos break out of a tie with Aerosmith and take sole possession of the third-most top 10s on the chart all-time. They trail only Tom Petty (28, solo and with the Heartbreakers) and Van Halen (26).

28, Tom Petty/The Heartbreakers
26, Van Halen
25, Foo Fighters
24, Aerosmith
23, Godsmack
23, John Mellencamp
23, Metallica
23, Shinedown
22, Pearl Jam

Foo Fighters can now set their sights on the No. 1 spot on Mainstream Rock Songs, which Concrete and Gold's previous singles, "Run" and "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," both reached last year. The band boasts eight total toppers on the chart.

On the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, "The Line" rises 25-24, up 10 percent to 2.6 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music. That's thanks in part to additional airplay at the alternative format, as the song ranks at No. 33 on Alternative Songs. Foo Fighters have earned the second-most Alternative Songs top 10s, 24, just one behind Red Hot Chili Peppers' 25.

Concrete and Gold, Foo Fighters' ninth studio album, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated Oct. 1, 2017, with 127,000 equivalent album units.
