Shinedown Scores 12th Mainstream Rock Songs Chart No. 1 With 'Devil'
Shinedown
The band is one shy of the record for the most leaders all-time.
Shinedown moves a step closer to the record for the most No. 1s in the history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs airplay chart, as the band earns its 12th leader, "Devil," on the list dated June 2.
The lead single from Shinedown's sixth album, ATTENTION ATTENTION,
rises 3-1 to become the rockers' second straight No. 1, following "How
Did You Love" in 2017. It also gives the band a chart-topper in each of
the past four years, dating to 2015's "Cut the Cord."
With its 12th No. 1, the band pulls closer to the mark for the most
Mainstream Rock Songs leaders since the ranking began in 1981. Three Days Grace and Van Halen currently reign with 13 apiece, with the former having tied the record with "The Mountain" in March.
"Devil" ranks at No. 14 on the all-rock-format Rock Airplay
chart with 5 million audience impressions in the week ending May 27,
according to Nielsen Music. The track is also bubbling under the
Alternative Songs airplay chart.
ATTENTION ATTENTION debuted at No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums, Alternative Albums and Hard Rock Albums charts dated May 19 with 61,000 equivalent units in its first week. This week, it places at No. 9 on Top Rock Albums.
