2009 : The night of the Grammy Awards, Chris Brown is arrested and held on suspicion of making criminal threats on his girlfriend Rihanna who suffered visible injuries and identified him as her attacker. The incident leads Rihanna to postpone concerts scheduled in Indonesia and in Malaysia.

1956 : Buddy Holley signs a recording contract with Decca Records, one which mistakenly drops the "e" from his last name. Buddy, knowing a good thing when he sees it, drops the letter from his name as well.
1964 : Responding to reports of the supposedly obscene lyrics in the Kingsmen's Louie Louie, the song's publisher offers $1,000 to anyone who can prove it.
